3299 Bitcoins Linked to BTC-e Moved

On March 14, an unknown переместил 3299 BTC (about $85.6k at the time of the transaction), linked to the BTC-e cryptocurrency exchange. This is reported by the Telegram channel ВЧК-ОГПУ.

The funds had been dormant since November 2022. As of writing, these bitcoins are still being split into small sums and withdrawn through various services.

According to ForkLog, representatives of analytics company Crystal Blockchain, some coins were sent to wallets linked to the MEXC, KuCoin and the BTC2pm exchange.

The source address is one of two that received a portion of the 10,000 BTC from the BTC-e-linked wallet on November 23, 2022.

\n\n\n\n

The latter, according to some reports, may belong to the administrator of WEX (the successor to BTC-e), Alexey Bilyuchenko.

\n\n\n\n

As previously noted, Alexey Bilyuchenko was arrested in March 2022 in the Moscow region on suspicion of misappropriating the exchange’s bitcoin assets. Police officers confiscated around 190 million rubles from him.

The suspect is currently in Moscow’s Matrosskaya Tishina prison.
