Tether Expands into Artificial Intelligence Sector

Tether Operations Limited announced a strategic expansion into the artificial intelligence industry.

According to the press release, this move underscores the company’s commitment to enhancing the accessibility and efficiency of AI, as well as highlighting its role in shaping the future of emerging technologies.

The firm expressed concerns about the monopolization of artificial intelligence by large tech companies. Tether’s AI division advocates for transparency and privacy in neural network development.

The company aims to pioneer the creation of open-source AI models to set new industry standards. Tether will also lead collaborations to integrate AI solutions into products designed to leverage technology for a wide range of applications.

In September 2023, the USDT issuer invested approximately $420 million in 10,000 NVIDIA H100 graphics processors in exchange for a 20% stake in the German mining company Northern Data.
