BUIDL is backed by U.S. Treasury bills, REPO agreements, and fiat currency. The number of security token holders in the fund has reached 17.

Securitize serves as the tokenization platform and transfer and listing agent. Anchorage, Coinbase, BitGo, and Fireblocks have joined the initiative as blockchain ecosystem partners. BNY Mellon facilitates compatibility with traditional markets.

“We are very pleased with the adoption and growth we are seeing as we continue to advance BUDL as a foundational level of institutional crypto income,” noted Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo.

The corresponding figure for competitor Franklin OnChain U.S. Government Money Fund (FOBXX) is approximately $400 million. The asset volume managed by Ondo Finance’s USD Yield fund (USDY) is around $281 million.

Earlier, McKinsey analysts estimated the asset tokenization market capacity to reach $1.9 trillion by 2030. In a more optimistic scenario, this figure could be twice as high.
