“The disruptions appear to be caused by heavy load related to DOGS token minting. TON Core is working on a solution,” the project’s statement said.
Block generation was disrupted from 19:19 UTC (22:19 Kyiv/MSK).
Through the specially created TON Status account on X, developers urged validators to update and restart nodes.
Approximately four hours later, the Wallet team reported on their Telegram channel that the network was fully operational and the application was functioning normally.
The previous blockchain disruption was also caused by abnormal load due to DOGS meme coin transactions. Blocks were not produced for about six hours. The issue was resolved after validators restarted nodes.
On August 26, the meme token was listed on exchanges. Over the past 24 hours, DOGS trading volume exceeded $2.38 billion. The asset’s price rose by 22% during this period, with a market capitalization reaching $784.4 billion, ranking 93rd on CoinGecko.
The native TON token quotes continue to recover following the August 24 crash amid the arrest of Telegram founder Pavel Durov in France.
The entrepreneur was released under judicial supervision with a bail of $5 million. He faces charges on six counts.
Cryptotrader Vladimir Cohen linked Bitcoin’s drop below $60,000 to the situation surrounding Durov and TON.
