Discussions are ongoing, and the terms of the deal may change, Bloomberg emphasizes.
The new funding round will be led by Thrive Capital. According to media reports, Apple, Nvidia, and Microsoft are expected to participate.
In February, OpenAI completed a share sale valuing the company at $86 billion.
That same month, news emerged of CEO Sam Altman’s negotiations with investors to raise between $5 trillion and $7 trillion for an ambitious chip production project.
