Linea Unveils Roadmap for Decentralization
ConsenSys developers have introduced a protocol improvement proposal for their Layer 2 network project, Linea, focusing on decentralization solutions.
?️ Let’s dive into the latest proposal on L2 decentralization! ?
1️⃣ I went through @florian_huc‘s proposal on @LineaBuild‘s decentralization and want to share key concepts. Here’s a breakdown of the first ideas: ?

Software architect Florian Huc titled the published document “Towards the Decentralization of Linea.”
His proposal aims to enhance the transaction finalization process within the L2 solution.
The plan suggests that any node can confirm a block through an auction system by placing a set staking deposit. Selection will occur randomly, and rotation will prevent node operators from gaining control over the network.
If validators become inactive, a recovery mode will activate, replacing them with other nodes after six months.
Data transmission to the L1 network will occur in the form of BLOB objects.
A penalty system is in place for validators exhibiting inappropriate behavior.
Earlier, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin suggested lowering solo staking requirements to strengthen network decentralization.
