In April 2024, the USDT issuer reorganized its structure into four divisions to explore new directions. The Tether Data department focuses on development and strategic investments in new technologies such as artificial intelligence and peer-to-peer platforms.
Soon, the company will launch an AI SDK platform with open-source code, built on Bare. It is capable of operating on any device, including budget and high-performance smartphones, laptops, powerful servers, and their clusters.
Tether Data products are focused on local operation, privacy, and self-custody of data and money.
Previously, the firm introduced an AI agent that operates without centralized API or cloud, capable of processing payments in stablecoin and BTC.
In August 2024, Tether announced its intention to invest in the AI sector while promoting the principles of decentralization and bitcoin ethics.
Back in March, it announced a strategic expansion into the artificial intelligence industry.
