Binance Co-founders Dismiss Rumors of Exchange Sale

The co-founder of the platform, Yi He, dismissed online rumors that “Binance is about to be sold” as gossip spread by competitors.

She stated that institutions regularly reach out to them, ready to collaborate and invest in Binance.

“We do not rule out attracting strategic partners and are open to mergers and acquisitions. If there are other trading platforms with plans to sell, please contact us,” she added.

Former CEO of the exchange, Changpeng Zhao (CZ), responded to the rumors with a post starting with the number 4. According to his classification, this means “ignore FUD and fake news about Binance.”

“Some lowly self-perceived competitor in Asia is spreading rumors about the sale of Binance. As a shareholder: CEX is not for sale. Top investors have always been interested in Binance. Over time, we may allow certain investments in the single-digit percentage range,” stated CZ.

In September 2024, the entrepreneur was released after a four-month detention in an American prison. He was sentenced for money laundering and other illegal activities related to Binance.

Prior to this, the exchange permanently barred Zhao from management. However, the current CEO of Binance, Richard Teng, noted that CZ remains the largest shareholder.

Back in November, Zhao announced his willingness to consider offers to sell his stake in Binance.
