Bankr Developers Disable Token Creation for Grok

The developers of Bankr, a bot designed for launching tokens directly on X and managing cryptocurrency wallets, have disabled responses to commands from Elon Musk’s xAI model, Grok. This was reported by The Block. 

The system adjustment was prompted by the creation of 17 tokens, the largest of which is DRB. 

On March 7, a user on X with the nickname domin suggested Grok come up with a name and ticker for creating an asset through the Bankr tool. Grok proposed DebtReliefBot as the name and DRB as the ticker. 

The Bankr platform allows users to link their X login with a cryptocurrency wallet, which is generated upon interaction with the bot. Users can then manage their address using commands directly on the social network or the tool’s website.

When users trade DRB, a portion of the funds from each transaction goes to a wallet managed by Grok. The Base team noted that in this way, the chatbot soon earned more than $200,000. At the time of writing, the figure exceeded $500,000.

Grok’s popularity and its readiness to suggest token names led to the creation of 16 other assets. 

“We have made it so that Bankr no longer responds to Grok’s requests on X. It was not designed for responsibly managing its own wallet and protecting its funds,” noted developer Deployer.

In March, after a series of leading questions, Grok suggested the name GrokCoin for its meme coin and provided the contract address.

Earlier, experts from the Swiss crypto bank Sygnum Bank stated that tokens associated with AI agents could become a new trend by 2025, although they remain predominantly speculative assets for now.

Back in January, Bitget CEO Gracy Chen predicted that the market capitalization of coins associated with AI agents could grow to $60 billion by 2025.
