Nvidia Unveils AI Assistant for Gamers
Nvidia has launched the G-Assist AI assistant for gamers, designed to help optimize game and system settings, measure frame rates, and adjust lighting on connected devices.
The assistant supports interaction through voice and text prompts. For instance, a user can inquire about DLSS Frame Generation, and G-Assist will respond in a ChatGPT-like manner.
The assistant can analyze and optimize computer performance upon user request. It will determine if there is a frame rate limiter in the game, the power of the graphics processing unit (GPU), and the potential for performance enhancement.
G-Assist can identify the refresh rate on the display and recommend options to overclock the GPU or reduce game resolution to increase frames per second.
The assistant operates on a local language model. To function, it requires an RTX 30, 40, or 50 series graphics card with at least 12 GB of VRAM.
In March, Nvidia announced new processors for creating and running AI models, a motion simulation engine for robots, and a range of other products.
