Nvidia to Establish $500 Billion AI Infrastructure in the US
Nvidia Corporation is collaborating with partners to design and construct factories in the US for the production of AI supercomputers. The company announced this in a blog post.
The firm reported the commissioning of over a million square feet (9.29 hectares) of manufacturing space for the creation and testing of Blackwell chips and artificial intelligence supercomputers in Texas.
Processors have begun production at TSMC’s facilities in Phoenix, Arizona. The company is building supercomputer factories in Texas — in partnership with Foxconn in Houston and Wistron in Dallas. Mass production at both plants is expected to commence within 12-15 months.
Nvidia noted that the development of AI chips and supercomputers requires the use of advanced technologies for manufacturing, packaging, assembly, and testing. The company is collaborating with Amkor and SPIL in Arizona on these matters.
Over the next four years, Nvidia plans to produce AI infrastructure in the US worth up to $500 billion through established partnerships.
“The production of chips and supercomputers for American AI factories is expected to create hundreds of thousands of jobs and ensure economic security worth trillions of dollars in the coming decades,” the company stated in its blog.
Nvidia’s shares are trading 1% higher compared to the closing prices on April 11.
In January, Donald Trump announced $500 billion in private sector investments in artificial intelligence infrastructure.
In April, the White House abandoned plans to impose restrictions on the import of Nvidia H20 AI chips shortly after the company’s CEO Jensen Huang attended a paid dinner with Trump.
