Cheboksary woman loses over 1 million rubles trying to invest in Bitcoin

A Cheboksary resident who fell victim to criminals contacted law enforcement. She was promised help with cryptocurrency trading, but as a result more than a million rubles were stolen, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Chuvash Republic.

After visiting one of the trading sites, a certain financial analyst contacted the victim. He convinced her to open an account on a \”well-known trading platform\”, install remote-access software, and offered to teach cryptocurrency trading, the ministry says.

Following the analyst’s advice, the Cheboksary resident took out a loan. After that the perpetrator transferred the funds from her account to various electronic wallets.

In total, the victim lost 1,140,000 rubles.

Earlier in Barnaul, criminals stole 14 million rubles, attributing it to a ‘Bitcoin crash on the exchange’.
