Founder of unnamed crypto fund detained in Ukraine on suspicion of contract killing

On August 30, in Odesa, law enforcement officers of Ukraine arrested the founder of an unnamed cryptocurrency investment fund on suspicion of ordering the murder of his former colleague.

According to sources, the arrested individual ordered the murder of a former fund employee after learning of his intentions to misappropriate investors’ funds and cryptocurrencies.

According to available information, the suspect was paying the second instalment of the reward to the killer from a total of $5,000.

In the SBU press service said that in order to solve the crime, agency officers staged kidnappings and murder in Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv, after which they reported to the client that the work had allegedly been completed.

Update: The person whose murder was paid for by the detainee turned out to be a former employee of the Bitsonar Ponzi scheme, Yaroslav Stadchenko. ForkLog has confirmed this to his wife, Yulia.

Stadchenko (also known as Yan Novak) was kidnapped by unknown assailants on August 26 in Kyiv.

He is a former technical employee of the collapsed Bitsonar pyramid, which positioned itself as an investment fund for algorithmic cryptocurrency trading.

It was he who exposed the fact that Bitsonar was a Ponzi scheme and named the real organiser — former Ukrainian official Alexander Tovstenko.

In an interview with ForkLog, Stadchenko himself claimed that Tovstenko has ties within the security services.
