According to CoinDesk, the exchange will become a separate subsidiary of DCG. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“We have invested in many companies around the world, including nearly two dozen trading platforms. But this is the first subsidiary providing wallet and exchange services to a large number of retail investors,” said DCG chief operating officer Mark Murphy.
DCG first invested in Luno in 2014. Now the company plans to expand the exchange’s presence in Africa, Asia and Europe.
DCG has invested in more than 160 companies worldwide. In August it acquired the mining company Foundry. The planned investments for 2021 are estimated at $100 million.
