Google Trends: Russian interest in Bitcoin has risen significantly

Against the backdrop of bitcoin’s price rise, residents of the Russian Federation have grown more interested in cryptocurrencies — since October, the number of search queries for the word ‘bitcoin’ has surged, according to Google Trends data.

The greatest interest in the first cryptocurrency is shown by residents of Chechnya, Dagestan, and Mari El. 

Bitcoin’s popularity has risen sharply worldwide since the beginning of October. 

On Tuesday, 24 November, the price of bitcoin reached a new 2020 high, rising above $19,000.
