Bitcoin price breaks through $40,000

Bitcoin price rises above $40,000.

On the evening of January 7, Bitcoin’s price rose above the $40,000 mark.

Update: After clearing above $40,400, the price moved into a correction and fell to around $37,000.

Around 19:00 MSK took $39 000. The previous round figure — $38 000 — yielded to the leading cryptocurrency around 15:00 MSK.

The gap between the 2017 high near $20,000 and the current $40,000 has been closed in less than a month.

The price of Ethereum reached $1,288, approaching the all-time high of $1,448, recorded on 13 January 2018 (per CoinGecko).
