Binance Research: 55% of users invest in cryptocurrencies for the long term

In a new Binance Research report from the exchange’s research division, 97% of users trust cryptocurrencies. More than half (52%) view investments in digital assets as a means of earning.

Of more than 61,000 respondents worldwide, 15% named cryptocurrency as their primary source of income. Among the main reasons for buying digital assets: long-term investments (55%), distrust of the traditional financial system (38%), and short-term trading opportunities (31%).

Bitcoin continues to dominate the cryptocurrency market. Digital gold is held by 65% of users. A third of them allocate up to 20% of their crypto portfolio to Bitcoin.

60% of users store digital assets on exchanges. Their choices are driven by security (28%), the user interface and experience (25%), available currency pairs (23%).

DeFi applications are popular among 66% of users.
