Grayscale applies to register six new investment trusts

On January 27, the asset-management firm Grayscale Investments filed applications to register six new trusts: based on Aave, Polkadot, Cosmos, Monero, EOS and Cardano.

The inquiries were addressed to the Delaware Department of State’s Division of Corporations. The investment products were registered by Delaware Trust Company (DTC). According to documents, DTC is Grayscale’s legal representative in the state.

According to media reports, on December 22 the company submitted applications to register five new trusts based on Chainlink, Tezos, Basic Attention Token, Decentraland and Livepeer.

Grayscale CEO Michael Sonnenshein, in a comment to The Block, noted that filing an application does not necessarily imply that an investment product will appear on the market. For example, the Filecoin-based trust has not yet launched, the registration application for which the company filed back in October.

Last week, Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) attracted a record $1.2 billion.
