Elon Musk posts Bitcoin hashtag on Twitter as cryptocurrency climbs to $38,000

Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk has again drawn attention to cryptocurrency. This time he placed the Bitcoin hashtag in the description of his Twitter profile.

Against the backdrop of Musk’s post, the price of the leading cryptocurrency surged. Quotes reached $38,250 on the Bitstamp exchange.

Earlier he posted a tweet, which many linked to the cryptocurrency Dogecoin (DOGE). In the past few days the Dogecoin price has repeatedly hit new all-time highs. It was pumped by traders from Reddit.

Elon Musk has repeatedly not opposed to receiving payments in Bitcoin, tried to explain to author J.K. Rowling the advantages of cryptocurrency, and in 2018 his Twitter account was temporarily suspended over a tweet about Bitcoin.
