Ukrainian citizen tried to smuggle undeclared mining equipment through customs
Customs officers at the Matveyev Kurgan MAPP border crossing detected cryptocurrency-mining equipment in the Ukrainian citizen’s hand luggage that he had not declared. This was reported on the site of the Southern Customs Administration.
According to him, he found online information that components for mining farms in Russia could be bought cheaper, and bought four devices. He then received a parcel at the Matveyev Kurgan post and planned to move the equipment to Ukraine.
The customs authorities opened an administrative offense case for failure to declare the goods.
Earlier, Kazakhstan’s customs service detained a shipment of mining rigs that were being illegally transported into the country from China.
