Illegal mining farm in Dagestan causes damage of 1.8 million rubles

A resident of Kaspiysk illegally connected to the power grid to mine cryptocurrency. The damage amounted to more than 1.8 million rubles, according to the Dagestan Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The mining farm operated from October to the end of November 2020 in a non-residential premises on the outskirts of the city.  

\n

Authorities have opened a criminal case for causing damage \”through deceit or abuse of trust\”. The investigation continues.

Recall, according to Rosseti, Dagestan leads among Russia’s regions in the number of detected cases of illegal electricity consumption by miners.
