Unknown buyer purchases CryptoPunk NFT for 4,200 ETH

An unknown user purchased one of the nine alien CryptoPunks, issued in 2017 as non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

NFT CryptoPunk 7804 cost the buyer 4,200 ETH — $7.5 million at the time of writing.

There are a total of nine alien punks, created long before the famous CryptoKitties. In January 2021, FlamingoDAO, a decentralized autonomous organization investing in collectible digital items, purchased one of them for 605 ETH.

On Thursday, March 11, Christie’s sold Beeple’s NFT for $69.3 million. This made the creator of the work “Everydays: The First 5000 Days” one of the most valuable living artists.

Earlier, Twitter founder Jack Dorsey put his first tweet up for sale as an NFT. Tron founder Justin Sun offered $2 million for it.
