Sponsors boost Cosmos hackathon prize pool to $43,000

Tendermint, Cyber and Secret Network have boosted the HackAtom RU 2021 prize pool from $31,000 to $43,000. The top prize is $6,000 in the category “IBC and DeFi”.

The hackathon will run from March 15 to 31. Applications to participate can be submitted until March 26, 19:00 (MSK).

HackAtom RU 2021 prizes:

• $6,000 and $2,000 for projects with IBC and DeFi;
• $3,500 and $1,500 for projects with IBC and NFT;
• $3,500 and $1,500 for projects to improve the IBC infrastructure;
• $3,500 and $1,500 for contributions to Starport development;
• $3,500 and $1,500 for creating a Secret App on the Secret Network;
• $3,500 and $1,500 for developing a “digital life” using Cyberlink;
• $2,000 for a smart contract using Bonding Curve on CosmWasm;
• $2,000 for a smart contract using an oracle on Agoric;
• $2,000 for an oracle on IRIS;
• $2,000 for an NFT project using interNFT;
• $1,000 for the best project as judged by hackathon participants;
• $1,000 for translating Cosmos documentation.

In addition, every team will receive a Cosmos store gift card worth $50.

During the hackathon, Tendermint and Citizen Cosmos will run a series of workshops for blockchain developers. Schedule and topics:

• 16 March — building an IBC blockchain using Starport;
• 17 March — measuring blockchain performance;
• 18 March — developing smart contracts with CosmWasm;
• 19 March — building a distributed database using Tendermint;
• 20 March — on-chain data analytics;
• 21 March — interconnecting blockchains via IBC;
• 22 March — privacy programming;
• 23 March — protocol planning using TLA+ and Apalache.
