Cosmos hackathon set to begin in six hours as prize pool rises to $45,000

On March 15 at 19:00 (MSK), the HackAtom RU 2021 hackathon, organised by Tendermint, Citizen Cosmos and Cyber Academy, will begin. The opening ceremony will be streamed on ForkLog’s YouTube channel.

Earlier, sponsors increased the prize pool from $31,000 to $43,000. In the last 24 hours this total rose to $45,000: the Akash Network project added a task for deploying applications using DeCloud

Registration for HackAtom RU 2021 will run until March 26. To date, 150 developers have submitted applications to participate.

The aim of the hackathon is to develop DeFi and NFT projects on Cosmos using the IBC protocol. The main prize pool amounts to $20 000:

  • $8000 for developing a DeFi product using IBC;
  • $5000 for developing an NFT product on Cosmos;
  • $5000 for developing a product using IBC;
  • $1000 for the project that receives the most votes from participants;
  • $1000 for translating Cosmos documentation into Russian.

Participants can complete sponsors’ tasks and receive additional rewards. The sponsor prize pool amounts to $25 000.

Each team will receive a guaranteed prize — a $50 gift card to spend in the Cosmos store.

Detailed registration rules, workshop schedules, and links to streams are on the site HackAtom RU 2021.

Earlier, organizers of HackAtom RU 2021 announced a series of blockchain development workshops. Tendermint and Citizen Cosmos will stream the workshops on ForkLog’s YouTube channel from March 16 to 23.
