Rothschild Investment Corporation increases stake in Grayscale Bitcoin Trust and acquires Grayscale Ethereum Trust shares

The Rothschild Investment Corporation has increased its positions in the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) and acquired shares of the Grayscale Ethereum Trust. This is stated in a filing for Form 13F with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

In an SEC filing today, Rothschild Investment Corporation reported owning 38,346 shares of GBTC.

In January, it reported owning 30,454 shares.

Today’s filing also reported 265,302 shares of Grayscale ETH Trust. This is a new position.

As of writing, the corporation owned 38,346 GBTC shares. In January 2021, that number was 30,454.

The filing also lists a position in the Grayscale Ethereum Trust — 265,302 shares.

In 2017, Rothschild Investment Corporation purchased GBTC shares for $210,000. Later, media reports stated that the corporation is not affiliated with the Rothschild dynasty.

The total assets under management in Grayscale Investments $50.6 billion. GBTC accounts for $41.4 billion of the total, and the Ethereum-based trust is valued at $7.4 billion.
