
US city authorities eye Bitcoin mining and salaries paid in Bitcoin
The Jackson city administration in Tennessee will study the potential of the first cryptocurrency for its integration into the financial system. This was stated by Mayor Scott Conger [Scott Conger].

According to him, authorities will consider paying public servants’ salaries in digital gold.
“Even more exciting — we are seriously exploring Bitcoin mining to add to our balance,” noted Conger.
Earlier, Miami Mayor Francis Suárez spoke about plans to allow public servants to receive payments in the first cryptocurrency. He did not rule out the transfer of 1% of the city budget into Bitcoin.
Later, city authorities voted to explore options for integrating digital gold into municipal infrastructure.
In April 2021, it was reported that the NBA’s Sacramento Kings planned to offer the team and staff the ability to receive salaries in Bitcoin.
