10 Guy meme Connor Sinclair to sell original photo as NFT
Connor Sinclair reveals his identity and plans to monetise meme via NFT.
American Connor Sinclair, whose photo became the basis of the meme “I don’t want to, I won’t,” has revealed his identity and decided to sell an NFT with rights to the famous shot. About this reports Know Your Meme.
The meme originated in 2011 after Reddit users posted photographs of Sinclair allegedly under the influence of soft drugs. In the American segment he gained the nickname [10] Guy (in the sense of extreme intoxication) and “Stoner Stanley.”

Because of the association with drugs, Connor Sinclair kept his anonymity for 10 years. He explained the expression on his face in the photo as the result of heat and a weak air conditioner in a cheap Spanish hotel.
Several times Sinclair received offers to participate in advertising, but declined, deeming it “hypocritical and senseless.” He has now decided to monetise his internet popularity.
“It happened that I am the guy with the sweaty and frozen face who became popular online. It seems now is the right time to come out to the world: the anniversary, 10 years with the ‘10 Guy’. Of course, the NFT hype is an important part of this, but it is truly the perfect time,” added Connor Sinclair.
Details on the NFT’s price and the platform on which it will be listed were promised later.
In late April, the meme’s “Disaster Girl” Zoe Roth sold the famous photo as an NFT for 180 ETH (nearly $430,000 at the time of the sale).
