Fox and ‘Rick and Morty’ creator to release ‘the first blockchain-based animated series in history’

Fox announced the release of a new animated series ‘Crapopolis’ from ‘Rick and Morty’ creator Dan Harmon, using blockchain technology for promotion. The Hollywood Reporter.

It is claimed that ‘Crapopolis’ will be ‘the first animated series in history created entirely on a blockchain’.

It will mark Fox’s foray into the NFT market. Fox will create a company called Blockchain Creative Labs and launch a platform to sell digital goods, ‘ranging from NFTs with unique characters and background images to tokens to engage and reward fans’.

Fox executives also expect that the platform ‘will help brands maintain direct contact with fans and enthusiasts through NFTs’.

Earlier reports indicated that the director of ‘Dogma’ would sell a new horror film as an NFT.
