Major U.S. convenience-store chain begins accepting Bitcoin

The American chain of 24/7 convenience stores, cafés and gas stations Sheetz added cryptocurrency payment support.

From May 27, 622 stores in the chain will accept payments in Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin and other digital assets.

All transactions are processed by the Flexa payment system. It supports customer accounts in the My Sheetz Rewardz loyalty program.

Authorization in the Flexa system occurs automatically when connected to the payment gateway via POS terminals. This helps reduce transaction costs and the risk of fraud, and also simplifies the process for customers.

Earlier in April, the coworking-space provider WeWork announced cryptocurrency payment support as part of a partnership with the processing service BitPay.
