Korbit launches South Korea’s first NFT marketplace

South Korea’s cryptocurrency exchange Korbit launched an NFT platform on the Ethereum blockchain. According to Korea Herald, the NFT marketplace became the first in the country.

“The local NFT market is developing compared with the rest of the world, and the Korbit platform will help create synergy between the blockchain ecosystem and various segments, including art, games and visual media,” Oh Se-jin, head of the exchange, said.

Earlier, the trading platform Binance announced the launch of its own NFT marketplace, which will begin operating on June 24.

As reported, Galaxy Digital founder Mike Novogratz, entrepreneur and author Gary Vaynerchuk, and Fanatics chief Michael Rubin announced the creation of Candy Digital. The company will focus on promoting sports-themed NFT.

At the end of May, the NFT music platform OneOf raised $63 million in a seed financing round.
