Media: Israel’s president handed oath text as NFT
The Israeli parliament handed over a copy of the presidential oath text in the form of a non-fungible token (NFT) to the new head of state Isaac Herzog during the July 7 inauguration. As reported by The Jerusalem Post.
In addition to the token, the president also received a physical copy of the oath text. The NFT will be stored in a cold wallet, disconnected from the Internet.
“I am pleased to present President Herzog with a special reminder of his father, which includes the oath text signed by him 38 years ago,” said Knesset Speaker Michael Levy.
The father of the current Israeli president, Chaim Herzog, signed the oath on 5 May 1983 and led the country until 1993.
Earlier, the State Hermitage Museum and the cryptocurrency exchange Binance began negotiations to issue NFTs.
Earlier, in the first half of 2021, sales of non-fungible tokens reached $2.5 billion.
