Media: Finiko pyramid founder obtains Turkish citizenship and buys property in Thailand

One of the founders of the Finiko financial pyramid, Kirill Doronin, has obtained Turkish citizenship, and his current whereabouts are unknown. This was reported following a joint investigation by Andrei Alistarov, the author of the YouTube channel «Iron Bet» and the Telegram channel «Satoshi’s Tears».

The investigators, citing scans of documents provided by a reliable source, said that in mid-June 2021 Doronin obtained Turkish citizenship under the name Onur Namik and a Turkish passport.

“I did not hold these documents in my hands, but we have no doubts about this, since the scans were provided by a reliable informant,” said Andrei Alistarov in ForkLog’s comment.

ForkLog’s editors reviewed the scans. The person pictured on them indeed bears a resemblance to Kirill Doronin.

Doronin’s interest in Turkey can be explained by the fact that it does not extradite criminals to Russia.

The investigators also found that Finiko representatives invested in the under-construction luxury complex on Phuket Island. This information, without specifying the amount of the investment, was confirmed by Maxim, an employee of the developer Andaman Riviera.

“They have bought several units. A deposit has been paid, and from now on we are offering an instalment plan,” he said.

The building is due to be completed in 2022.

According to the real estate agency, apartment prices in the complex start at $98,000.

Later, an Instagram video posted on the Andaman Riviera account appeared, in which Maxim refuted the statements he made in Alistarov’s video. He said that in reality the collaboration is allegedly not with Finiko itself, but with its private investors.”

According to the investigators, Maxim faced pressure.

At the end of 2020, the publication Business Online reported that Finiko co-founder Edward Sabirov, with the involvement of former Minister of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation Nikolai Nikiforov, planned to invest in the Innopolis development project in Tatarstan. Sabirov is a key shareholder in the project – he owns 33.4%.

According to Nikolai Nikiforov, as of early December 2020 the developer had attracted about 1.5 billion rubles of the required 70 billion. Whether any part of this sum belongs to Sabirov is unknown.

Sabirov himself confirmed in a comment to Business Online that he had become co-owner of the development company, and stressed that he is investing personal funds in Innopolis and that this has nothing to do with his trading activity in Finiko.

ForkLog sought comment from Finiko representatives but did not receive a timely response.

Earlier, ForkLog reported that the founders of Finiko were suspected of an exit scam.
