
Fortune 500 Company Acquires LibertyX, Operator of Bitcoin ATMs
The American NCR Corporation has signed a definitive agreement to acquire LibertyX, the operator of Bitcoin ATMs. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Closing of the transaction is expected by the end of 2021, after customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
NCR Corporation said the agreement was driven by growing client demand for a comprehensive solution for cryptocurrency operations, which should also enable cross-border payments.
“Going forward, NCR will promote LibertyX as part of its offering for banks, retail and restaurants. The digital wallet and the NCR mobile app will provide these capabilities at all physical and digital touchpoints,” according to the press release.
Founded in 2013, LibertyX operates more than 10,000 Bitcoin ATMs in the United States. It supplies software to third-party operators such as Cardtronics, which, in early 2021, was also приобрела NCR Corporation for $2.4 billion.
NCR Corporation specializes in computing hardware for retail networks, as well as banking, financial, travel and healthcare sectors. The corporation is listed in the Fortune 500. Its shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange NYSE at around $44.30 per share, giving a market capitalization of about $5.81 billion.
