Tiger Global buys 2.6 million Coinbase shares
The investment firm Tiger Global, with assets under management of $79 billion, holds 2,625,294 Coinbase shares, according to the on the SEC site.
The Coinbase stake in Tiger Global’s portfolio is worth $674.25 million at the current COIN share price.
In 2018, Tiger Global led Coinbase’s Series E financing round, which raised $300 million. At the time, the company’s valuation was $8 billion.
In April 2021, Coinbase began trading on Nasdaq. The company’s market capitalization exceeded $100 billion.
Earlier in April, Tiger Global invested $25 million in the Indian cryptocurrency exchange CoinSwitch Kuber.
