
Anchorage hires former Wells Fargo top executive Ken Chapman
Former Wells Fargo top executive Ken Chapman has joined Anchorage, the institutional-focused crypto bank.

In his previous role, Chapman led digital assets and blockchain technology initiatives. He has also worked at Bank of America, BNY Mellon, Bridgewater Associates, JPMorgan and UBS.
At Anchorage, Chapman will serve as Director of Banking Products and Markets. He said this would enable the firm \”to meet strong demand for its services, including custody, trading and lending.\”
In January 2021 Anchorage received the first license in the United States for a federal crypto bank.
The organization raised $80 million following a funding round. It was led by the Singaporean sovereign wealth fund with participation from a16z, Blockchain Capital, Lux and Indico.
Earlier in June, Anchorage announced a service for issuing secured Ethereum-backed loans in US dollars.
