
Orenburg Court Sides with Bitcoin-Miner Buyer Against Equipment Seller
The Orenburg Regional Court for Civil Cases considered the appeal in a suit brought by a local resident against a seller of mining equipment who failed to fulfil obligations under the sale and purchase agreement.

According to the case materials, in June 2019 the plaintiff paid 795,000 rubles for the delivery of 30 cryptocurrency-mining devices with original power supplies. The seller promised to deliver the equipment by July 12, 2019, but did not fulfil the obligations.

The buyer sought to rescind the deal and recover from the defendant the amount of the advance payment, as well as interest for the use of the funds.

The defendant did not agree with the plaintiff’s arguments. He claimed that he concluded the contract not with the woman, but with her son, who did not raise any complaints about the delivery of the equipment.

The first-instance court granted the claimant’s demands and recovered from the defendant the amount of the advance payment and interest.

The seller appealed the decision in the appellate court. However, the Orenburg Regional Court rejected the defendant’s appeal.

Earlier, a resident of the Tyumen region filed with the police a a report of theft of cryptocurrency mining equipment valued at more than 1 million rubles.
