Thieves broke into a Saint Petersburg apartment housing ASIC miners worth 1.7 million rubles
A 36-year-old resident of Saint Petersburg reported to the police a theft of four Bitcoin mining devices. The theft was reported by local media.
The victim said that in June 2021 she rented a one-room apartment on Kalinina Street, where she placed the ASIC miners.
When she returned to the apartment on 12 September after a week’s absence, she found that the mining rig had been stolen.
According to an initial version, the thieves gained entry to the apartment using construction scaffolding, pried open a window, and took the equipment.
The damage, according to the victim, amounted to 1.7 million rubles.
The Saint Petersburg police are considering opening a criminal case.
Earlier in August in Kursk, thieves stole 30 graphics cards through the balcony for cryptocurrency mining.
