Lawyer sought 15 million rubles for return of seized mining equipment

Law enforcement officers in the Orenburg region detained a lawyer as he was receiving 15 million rubles from a participant in one of the criminal cases related to mining. This was reported by the Следственном комитете.

According to investigators, the suspect deceitfully persuaded the participant in the criminal proceedings to hand over 15 million rubles to recover the previously seized computer equipment used for mining cryptocurrency.

The attorney was detained at the moment of receiving the funds. The investigation continues.

Earlier in May it was reported that the FSB detained suspects in the extortion of 10 million rubles from a cryptocurrency businessman.
