Thoma Bravo co-founder with $83 billion assets under management invests in Bitcoin

Thoma Bravo co-founder and managing partner Orlando Bravo has invested in Bitcoin and expects the price to rise in step with broad crypto adoption. He said this at the CNBC Delivering Alpha conference.

“How can you not love cryptocurrency? It’s simply a great system — it’s decentralized and free from disagreements. And young people want to have their own financial system. So, it’s here to stay.”

In his view, the blockchain technology underpinning cryptocurrencies offers superior use cases to software built on traditional databases.

Bravo believes that institutions have only begun to come to the crypto market.

“Over time their numbers will grow significantly. I am optimistic,” he added.

Forbes estimates Bravo’s net worth at $6.3 billion; assets under management by Thoma Bravo total $83 billion.

Earlier, Thoma Bravo invested in the bitcoin exchange FTX in a Series B funding round worth $900 million.
