
Powerbridge Technologies to Mine Bitcoin and Ethereum in Hong Kong
Powerbridge Technologies, the Nasdaq-listed Chinese blockchain company, will begin mining two leading cryptocurrencies in Hong Kong using green energy, as stated in the в пресс-релизе.
The company will deploy 2,600 devices — 600 for Bitcoin mining and 2,000 for Ethereum mining. They will provide a hash rate of 60 PH/s and 1,000 GH/s, respectively.
In August, Powerbridge Technologies, whose main business is software development and blockchain applications, announced plans to engage in cryptocurrency mining.
In the same month the Chinese company signed with Cryptodigital Holdings a contract to purchase 5,600 mining devices for Bitcoin and Ethereum. According to the release, the batch included 2,000 ASIC miners for Bitcoin mining and 3,600 installations for Ethereum mining.
Earlier in January, The9 Ltd announced its entry into the mining industry.
Analysts estimate that Nasdaq-listed mining companies have cumulatively accumulated more than 20,459 BTC worth over $1.1 billion.
