Socios platform to issue tokens for NFL and MLS clubs

The New England Patriots, a professional club in the National Football League, announced a partnership with blockchain company Chiliz, operator of the Socios.com platform for issuing fan tokens for sports and entertainment clubs and organisations.

According to the press release, the company also signed a partnership with MLS club the New England Revolution.

“We look forward to collaborating with the Patriots and Revolution to boost fan engagement worldwide as we advance in the sports industry,” said Socios.com CEO Alexandre Dreyfus.

The platform uses blockchain technology to issue fan tokens, collectibles and other digital assets for sports organisations.

Socios.com works with more than 100 teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn Nets, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Manchester City, Inter, Arsenal, the national teams of Argentina and Portugal in football and others.

In April, Chiliz also signed contracts with the UFC and with Formula 1 teams Aston Martin Cognizant and Alfa Romeo Racing Orlen.
