According to them, the rodent showed no signs of serious illness, but he suddenly stopped eating and fell asleep peacefully on Monday morning.

He brought joy to people around the world and reminded us not to take life too seriously. We will miss you, Mr. Gox, and your memory will live forever on the blockchain,

Fans of the hamster expressed their condolences on Twitter.

‘I copied your trades and was very pleased with your brilliant collabs,’ wrote one of them.

Initially Mr. Goxx’s portfolio was valued at $390. According to the latest data, over his career the hamster earned just over €98, and his portfolio had grown by 19.72%.

The creators of the Goxx Capital project said they do not plan to continue it.

In June 2021, the hamster’s owner built for him a special cage, equipped with optical sensors connected to an Arduino Nano controller. This allowed the rodent to ‘trade’ digital assets.

By turning the running wheel, Mr. Goxx ‘selected’ a particular cryptocurrency for trading. The program sold a coin when the rodent ran through the left tunnel, and bought when he passed through the right tunnel.

At the end of September, the hamster’s portfolio at one point outpaced Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway in returns.
