Axie Infinity NFT land plot sells for a record 550 ETH

A user Lunacian #789512 paid 550 ETH (about $2.46 million at the time of writing) for a plot of virtual land in the Axie Infinity NFT game.

Representatives of the project stressed that this was the largest such purchase in the sector’s history. The seller was user ArcaChemist.

Участок represents a type of land called Genesis, which Axie Infinity classifies as extremely rare. It is located at the center of the game map.

In Axie Infinity there are various types of lands, including Mystic and Arctic. The latter collectively are known as Lunacia. This territory is the homeland of Axies, each of which is an NFT token.

Users of Axie Infinity can earn Smooth Love Potion (SLP) tokens. The project ranks highly in CoinGecko’s market cap rankings in the Gaming, Metaverse, and Play to Earn categories.

In the Philippines, began accepting SLP as payment. In response, authorities proposed taxing transactions with Axie Infinity tokens.
