
Tendermint launches HackAtom VI hackathon with $1 million prize
On November 11, the HackAtom VI hackathon kicked off in the Cosmos ecosystem. Winners will share $1 million in ATOM equivalent.
Teams must complete one or more tasks by December 9, 2021. Winners of the challenges will receive $35,000 for first place and $15,000 for second.
Participants in HackAtom VI compete in seven categories:
- Ethereum on Cosmos — two challenges to port smart contracts from the Ethereum blockchain to Cosmos;
- Starport — four tasks to develop projects on the Starport platform;
- Interoperability — five challenges using the Inter-Blockchain Communication protocol (IBC);
- End-User Apps — four tasks to create user applications for Cosmos ecosystem projects;
- DeFi — four challenges for DeFi developers;
- Gaming — two tasks to develop blockchain games;
- Earth — four challenges focused on solving environmental and humanitarian issues.
Teams can also receive additional prizes:
- Grand Prize of $25,000 for solving two or more Hackathon tasks in a single project;
- Community Award of $10,000 for the best project as judged by users of the Devpost hackathon platform.
To participate in HackAtom VI, you need to create an account on the Devpost platform and register on the hackathon page. The jury accepts projects until December 8. Winners will be announced on December 16.
Earlier in October, the Cosmos announced the launch of the experimental blockchain Sagan.
