
Tomsk resident robbed of bitcoins worth 350 million rubles
In Tomsk, a local resident was robbed and, under threats, coerced into transferring almost all the cryptocurrency he possessed. As сообщает REN-TV, the incident occurred in October, but details only emerged now.
According to the press, an unknown man approached the 24-year-old Tomsk resident near his entrance and, brandishing a pistol, demanded that he transfer bitcoins to his cryptocurrency wallet. The victim sent 85 BTC from the 90 coins he held.
After this, the Tomsk resident was brought into his apartment and tied to the bed. The stranger remained with him until the evening. When he left, items worth 400,000 rubles disappeared from the apartment, including cash in rubles and dollars.
The value of the stolen bitcoins at the time of the theft was estimated at 350.6 million rubles.
Later, police detained the suspect, a 36-year-old local resident. The victim was reimbursed 36 million rubles from the stolen amount.
In late October in Ukraine, a suspect in the kidnapping of the owner of cryptocurrency and the theft of $2.5 million was detained.
