Garry Kasparov releases NFT collection on the 1Kind platform

Garry Kasparov released an NFT collection on the 1Kind platform. It includes archival photographs and the chess grandmaster’s personal notebooks.

“I wanted to share dozens of personal items from my life and career, to open my archive. We [with 1Kind] have worked together to create a new way of using NFTs to tell the story behind real events,” Kasparov wrote.

The collection is divided into three drops: “Early Years,” “World Champion” and “Legend’s Legacy.” The creators also announced a special Tribute NFT.

The first drop is already available on 1Kind. As the name suggests, this release features NFTs related to the early years and childhood of the future world champion.

The NFTs are issued on the Ethereum blockchain and are sold via auction. At the time of writing, the top bid (0.39 ETH) is for a digitised diary entry by Kasparov, in which he details one of the games from a team championship in Baku.

Earlier in October, Norwegian grandmaster Magnus Carlsen received a trophy in the form of an NFT for winning an international tournament.
