In April the team released a six-season series of digital NBA championship rings, as well as ticket stubs for the most memorable games as non-fungible tokens.
“The FTX.US NFT platform will provide a gateway for Warriors fans to access the franchise’s exclusive collectible items”, — said Brett Harrison, president of the platform.
The FTX logo will be placed on the Santa Cruz Warriors’ farm team playing surface, on the main team’s playing surface during NBA 2K games, and in broadcasts of matches of the Golden Guardians esports team, including the League of Legends Championship Series (LCS), Super Smash Bros and World of Warcraft.
As part of the agreement, FTX.US will also donate 1 BTC to three charitable organizations focused on educational equity.
In November, the company signed a similar deal with the University of Kentucky men’s basketball team.
In June FTX signed a five-year contract with MLB. Prior to that, the company obtained naming rights to the Miami Heat’s arena, which was renamed to FTX Arena through 2040.
Later the crypto-derivatives exchange reached an agreement with the esports team TSM on its rebranding worth $210 million. Later it announced plans to create an NFT marketplace focused on sports and entertainment.
In October FTXacquired advertising time during the broadcast of the NFL’s championship game (the Super Bowl).
In December plans emerged to reach a valuation of $32 billion.
