Ex-Goldman Sachs partner raises $33 million to launch a cryptocurrency-trading app

The Domain Money startup, founded by former Goldman Sachs head of product Adam Dell, raised $33 million to launch a mobile app for trading stocks and digital assets.

The Domain Money team includes former employees of Goldman Sachs, Bridgewater Associates, Morgan Stanley, Coinbase Global and BlockFi. Also involved in the project are former Goldman Sachs CTO Elish Vizel and former head of the CFTC Christopher Giancarlo.

The app is available in the App Store. In addition to trading, the platform provides expert ratings, key financial metrics and up-to-date news. Users can subscribe to one of the professionally managed strategies, with an annual management fee of 1% of assets under management.

We are interested in blockchain that serves as an alternative to banks, for example through DeFi money markets. There is a class of investors who like Fidelity, Schwab and E-Trade, but they are not satisfied with the access to cryptocurrencies that is provided, — заявил Adam Dell.

Among the supported assets are Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polygon, Terra, Uniswap and Bitcoin Cash.

Domain Money tracks protocols’ operational performance by monitoring GitHub, dominant social-media sentiment and changes in exchange balances.

Trading and custody of cryptocurrencies are provided through a partnership with Gemini Trust, while equities are handled by Apex Clearing.

Earlier, a former Citi executive launched a $1.5 billion fund to invest in the crypto industry.
