Swiss Lugano to permit Bitcoin and USDT payments within the city

The Swiss city of Lugano will de facto make Bitcoin, Tether (USDT) and the LVGA city token legal tender.

This was announced at the Plan ₿ conference with Lugano’s mayor Michele Foletti and Tether’s Chief Technology Officer Paolo Ardoino.

At the conference, the World Bitcoin Forum was announced to be held in Lugano in October 2022.

In 2020, the University of Lugano and the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland formed the Blockchain Technologies Association to support and develop blockchain.
