Ethereum wallet MetaMask surpasses 30 million users
ConsenSys announced that the number of monthly active users of its non-custodial crypto wallet MetaMask has surpassed 30 million.
In January @MetaMask broke 30M monthly active users accessing Web3 applications, a 42% increase in 4 months.

Over the past four months the figure has risen by 42%, and compared with April 2021 it has grown roughly sixfold.
«The global user base uses MetaMask to create and collect NFTs, join DAO and participate in DeFi protocols. The United States, the Philippines, Brazil, Germany and Nigeria are among the most active markets», according to the company’s statement.
ConsenSys raised $450 million following a Series D funding round. The funds are also planned to be used for a major redesign of MetaMask, slated for the end of 2022.
«We have an excellent user interface that we will launch soon», said ConsenSys CEO Joseph Lubin in a Decrypt interview.
He also said that the company, in the context of MetaMask, intends to launch a DAO. The organisation will not run the project, but will fund the creation of new wallet elements, Lubin added.
The head of ConsenSys confirmed that MetaMask will have its own token.
As reported, Lubin hinted in November. MetaMask’s Chief Operating Officer Jacob Cantale warned users not to expect a generous airdrop in the event of a token launch.
